Atalanta coach Stefano Colantuono gave his thoughts on his side’s 3-1 defeat against Roma and admitted that his team were second best to the Giallorossi.

The Nerazzurri failed to trouble the Lupi for much of the match and have Giulio Migliaccio’s goal to thank for making the score line respectable for the away side.

“It is not easy to play against Roma as they have great quality but it is clear that we could have done better especially for the second goal where we lost concentration at the vital time,” Colantuono told Sky Sport Italia after the game.

“The second goal was crucial and really stopped us in our tracks.

“Others teams have bigger squads than ours with international players who have the habit of winning and fighting until the end of the season . I believe that in the end the quality of a squad is fundamental.”

Colantuono remained upbeat about his side’s chances of finishing the season well and challenging for a European place.

“We have five games remaining. We still have to play both Juventus and AC Milan but we want to stay close to those above us and see what will happen. There is still much to play for.”
