Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero could be reunited with coach Marcello Lippi, who is keen to take the veteran to Guangzhou Evergrande when he leaves Sydney FC.

Since leaving the Bianconeri for Australia ahead of the 2012-13 the Italian has shown in Sydney scoring 24 times in 48 appearances, but will leave the club at the season’s conclusion.

However, although now 39-years-old the striker has announced that he plans to continue playing and Tuttomercatoweb believe that the Chinese club are ready to offer him a one year contract to join countryman Alessandro Diamanti in Guangdong.

Upon Lippi’s arrived at the Old Lady in 1994 he led Del Piero and his teammates to three Serie A titles, including a double in his first season, and the Italian’s only Champions League success in 1996.

After a second spell in Turin brought two more Scudetto triumphs the pair would work together once more for the Italian national side where they had the ultimate honour of lifting the World Cup for the Azzurri in 2006.
