Livorno coach Domenico Di Carlo has stated that the Amaranto will not give up in their fight to stave off relegation despite being three points from safety with five Serie A games remaining.

The Amaranto fell to a 4-2 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Chievo on Sunday afternoon after being unable to capitalise on taking an early lead in the game.

“Chievo’s two-goal advantage came from our gifts, we need to remedy this as soon as possible even though there is not much time,” said Di Carlo while speaking to Rai Sport.

“In the second half we tried to put things in place, like changing the position of Greco but we did not succeed in spite of trying until the end.

“But we will not give up anything, we are three points from safety with five games remaining.

“I thank the fans who supported us until the end. We will try until the end.”
