Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco has invited his players to bring consistency to their results in order to avoid relegation.

The 44-year-old believes that the Neroverdi can remain in Serie A but knows they must collect points as many points as possible starting with Saturday’s match against Cagliari.

“We have to give continuity to our performances and the results. Good performances have arrived but the results have not,” the coach told at a press conference on Friday.

“Sassuolo want to play a good game and reach a positive result. The team still believes in avoiding relegation and this has to be the spirit until the end.”

He then discussed the form of his players and the effects of the win against Atalanta.

“I have different solutions. I have recovered Lorenzo Ariaudo but lost Thomas Manfredini but we will keep working to do the best we can.

“Mentally there was a positive reaction after the Bergamo game. Our attitudes must never chang. Sassuolo have 24 points and they are penultimate but we must keep training at our best.”

Di Francesco also commented on the first match between Sassuolo and Cagliari, where the Neroverdi had a 2-0 lead but wasted it.

“We deserved a lot more in that game, it was our fault, Cagliari have many important players in attack.”

“For me this is a game like the others. We will play against Cagliari and not against Pulga.”

He concluded by talking about the race to avoid relegation and the next match against Chievo.

“I would not rule out anybody, not even Catania who are four points behind us. We have to bring home the three points.

“You cannot think about two games at the same time. The most important one is always the first and we are determined to grab the three points. We will think about Chievo only afterwards.”
