Lille defender Simon Kjaer has revealed he is ‘flattered’ by reports linking him with a summer move to AC Milan.

The Danish international spent time at both Palermo and Roma but looks to have rediscovered his form since moving to France and has been linked with a move to the Rossoneri in recent days.

“I’m more than flattered by the links to such great clubs,” the 25 year-old told Danish newspaper BT.

“But I do not want to waste time listening to these rumours. Right now I prefer to concentrate all my strength and focus on my team.”

Kjaer has been one of Ligue 1’s outstanding players this season with 33 appearances to help Lille secure third place in the table.

“We will talk only once our season objective of Champions League qualification for Lille is achieved,” he concluded.

Roma brought Kjaer in on loan when Philippe Mexes left to join Milan but did not exercise their option to purchase the player.
