Inter midfielder Mateo Kovacic could leave the Nerazzurri this summer should the youngster fail to impress management for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old has found it difficult to acclimatize to new coach Walter Mazzarri’s style of play and has failed to score in Serie A this season despite making 26 league appearances.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Kovacic has six games to establish his credentials with the Nerazzurri as the club are looking for him to turn his potential into performance before deciding on his future.

With club president Erick Thohir looking to rebuild the squad over the summer it is believed the Indonesian will be looking for Kovacic to start proving his abilities beginning with Inter’s away trip to Sampdoria on Sunday.

The youngster was signed in January 2013 from Dinamo Zagreb for a total fee of  €15 million.
