Roma coach Rudi Garcia was delighted with his team’s 3-1 victory over Atalanta and admitted that he is already looking ahead to next season.

The win sees the Giallorossi move to within five points of league leaders Juventus but Garcia was adamant he was just pleased to see his side’s performance on Saturday night.

“We could have scored more goals but I saw a great Roma performance tonight,” Garcia told Sky Sport Italia after the match at the Olimpico.

“I liked the second and third goals as they were created by the team and as a coach that is satisfying.

“When the team is doing well there are still choices to be made in terms of team selection but I was sure that the best Roma available went out on the field this evening.”

Garcia was unable to answer questions on the future of goalscorer Rodrigo Taddei but praised defender Rafael Toloi.

“I will tell you something (about Taddei) when I can. I will speak with (Walter) Sabatini in the summer about the situation but nothing is decided yet.

“I was pleased for Rafael (Toloi) because he played well against Torino and today he played with a lot of personality and he is improving all the time.

“For a coach it is a dream to keep improving after a successful season and in order for us to do that we may have to strengthen in the summer. I will have to talk with the president and with Sabatini.

“At the moment there are a lot of strong teams in Europe and there is still a long way for us to go.

“After all Rome was not built in a day.”
