Roma boss Rudi Garcia hailed this season as remarkable and dedicated Champions League qualification to the injured Kevin Strootman,

The Giallorossi took a first half lead against Fiorentina through Radja Nainggolan and then turned on one of their best defensive displays of the season to earn a 1-0 victory away from home.

“It has been an extraordinary season, but we can still make it an exceptional one,” Garcia said to Sky Sport Italia.

“The attitude of the team is key, as we defend with 11 men and attack with 11 men.”

Then, Garcia was kind enough to dedicate the win to Roma midfielder Strootman, who will miss out on the upcoming World Cup after picking up a knee injury in March.

“I particularly want to dedicate this qualification to Strootman, as I am truly happy he’ll play in the Champions League with us next season.”

The former Lille boss also tipped Mattia Destro for a World Cup call up from Cesare Prandelli.

“He has the best goals to games ratio in the Serie A, even though he has only played half of the season,” the tactician said.

“My future? I’ve already said that I am happy at Roma.”
