Roma boss Rudi Garcia has revealed that the capital city club will continue building their team this summer in hopes of better preparing for European play next season.

The Giallorossi, who currently sit in second place on the Serie A table, are on their way to securing a definite spot in the Champions League for the next campaign and the tactician insists that him and sporting director Walter Sabatini will continue working together in order to further strengthen the Lupi squad at the end of the season.

Garcia spoke during his press conference on Saturday ahead of Roma’s match against Cagliari on Sunday about the club’s transfer market situation and admitted that talent isn’t the only thing he looks for when targeting a certain player.

“I have always worked hand in hand with Sabatini, nothing changes,” said the 50-year-old.

“Firstly, there is the budget, at a club. We will see what will happen at the end of the season.

“Cutting back is not needed. I’ll just say that last season it was necessary to sell more, but we made sure to build a squad that can return to Europe.

“The right choices were made and we’ll make sure to do it again this summer.

“Whenever the market opens, however, there are no statistics. You cannot say that you’ll always be 100 per cent successful.

“It’s not just about finding a talented player, there are so many other factors.”
