Genoa boss Gian Piero Gasperini is confident that his team is well prepared for their match against Torino on Sunday.

The 56-year-old has insisted that Grifone will be very careful in their away match against the Granata on Sunday and admits that his squad wont rely on defending for the entire match, as his mission is to earn the three points.

Gasperini spoke during his pre-match press conference on Saturday about the challenge that lies ahead in Turin and commented on the condition of Juraj Kucka and Matuzalem, who are currently on the Genoa bench nursing injuries.

“We’ve worked hard all week to better prepare for this match,” said the tactician.

“Torino played very well again from behind, so we have to play well and be very careful. We want to have a good performance and secure the result.

“We cannot think about defending for the full 90 minutes, even though [Ciro] Immobile and [Alessio] Cerci are very fast. We must face the game with courage, which we’re asking our fans to do as well.

“There will be some innovation, beginning from the absence of the suspended [Giuseppe] Sculli, I’m evaluating a few different solutions.

“Genoa is doing well, we’re coming off of some games where we haven’t collected points, but we’ve still caused a lot of trouble for our opponents.

“Kucka and Matuzalem? They’re both working very good. It’s possible that we’ll see them on the field again before the end of the season, but we’re taking things step by step.

“We don’t want to risk anything, they’re both fundamental players also in the future perspective.”
