Emanuele Giaccherini is expected to leave Sunderland this summer but it appears as though the Italian could yet remain in England.

After being signed by fellow countryman Paolo Di Canio last summer the 28-year-old also featured under successor Gus Poyet, though the club have failed to recover from a poor start and remain seven points from safety.

Although there is interest from Serie A side Genoa, Tuttomercatoweb are reporting that interest from fellow Premier League clubs West Ham United and Hull City could be a more likely destination with the former Juventus man probably too expensive for the Grifone.

The midfielder has made 27 appearances for the Black Cats this term, scoring four times, and playing a prominent role in their run to the League Cup final which they lost to Manchester City.
