German club Borussia Monchengladbach are the latest side to ask about the availability of Sampdoria star Shkodran Mustafi.

The 22 year old German has been a revelation in the rearguard for Sampdoria this season, which culminated in his maiden national team call-up in February from Germany boss Joachim Low.

Reunische Post report that Gladbach boss Lucien Favre is interested in signing Mustafi at the end of the season as he sees the German as a fundamental part of his plans in the future.

Only last week, the ex-Everton reject was linked with big money moves to Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus on the back of his performances this season.

Mustafi has made 30 appearances for Sampdoria this season, netting one goal.
