Francesco Guidolin - UdineseUdinese coach Francesco Guidolin somewhat surprisingly praised his side’s performance during the defeat to Juventus on Monday night, insisting that they had played well despite making some mistakes at the Stadio Fruili.

While he reiterated that the visitors have greater quality than the Zebrette they hardly attempted to trouble the Old Lady’s defensive line missing regulars Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci in a lack luster display in Udine.

“I thought the team played a good match, they had courage even though they made ??some mistakes,” Guidolin told Sky Sport Italia.

“It should be emphasized the merits of who is stronger, we could do better in terms of competitive but we ran and we tried.

“When you concede it becomes hard because Juventus will keep possession, it is solid, and we cannot pick up the ball.

“It was important to keep the score at 0-0 and then push on.”
