Inter could make a move for Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic if Walter Mazzarri is relieved of his duties at the end of the season.

Mazzarri’s future at Inter has come under scrutiny this week after a series of disappointing results in 2014, and there are whispers that he could be sacked if Inter fail to achieve European qualification.

Sky Sport Italia report that despite having a contract until 2015, Sampdoria boss Mihajlovic is seeking talks with the board to lay the foundations for the future.

If the Serbian is unhappy with these conditions, he may opt to leave the post with Inter reportedly lurking in the background.

Mihajlovic is a former player after playing for the Nerazzurri from 2004 to 2006 before become an assistant coach for Roberto Mancini at the club from 2006 to 2008.
