Benfica coach Jorge Jesus is happy with his team’s performance against Juventus and is feeling good about the return game.

The Aguias defeated the Bianconeri 2-1 at the Estadio da Luz in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final tie.

“I have seen a positive performance of my team,” said Jesus to TuttoMercatoWeb.

“Juventus is a difficult opponent, the second goal gave us peace of mind now, but in the second half of the match they made it difficulty for us and Carlos Tevez was a major part of that. Now we’re going to Turin with confidence.

“Had it ended at 1-0 it would have been better than 2-1,” Jesus continued.

“We played against a great team. They’re terrific going forward and possess great quality, just like us.

“The number one goal was to win the championship, then get to the cup final and in the semi-finals of the Europa League.

“Now I am managing a group and I will make my choices based on the conditions of the players in the final stages of the season.

“Starting Oscar Cardozo? He has all my confidence as does Lima, the Rodrigo-Cardozo pairing created a lot against Juve.

“My decisions are made based on my work throughout the week and not just on the basis of a 90 minute game.
