Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo has announced that there no problems playing him and PSG midfielder Marco Verratti together and that negotiations regarding a renewal at the Bianconeri are still ongoing.

Speaking Italian radio station Radio Deejay, the veteran discussed his exit from AC Milan, his free kick against Fiorentina and how long his career at the highest level will last.

“Why I left Milan? I always said that was a choice made by all the parties. The coach was not convinced to play in my position, then I had asked for a two-year contract while they wanted to start with one,” Pirlo told the station.

The goal against Fiorentina in the Champions League? There I gave more power. technique can change, it depends on different situations.”

Pirlo and Verratti may be a starting midfield pairing for the Azzurri in the World Cup, something that Pirlo is absolutely fine with.

“Verratti? Yes we can play together, as well as playing with Thiago Motta at Paris Saint-Germain he can do it with me.  The more good players you have the better.”

The 34-year-old is still without a contract for the next season and despite all signs pointing to an extension to his time in Turin, Pirlo was coy with the details.

“Renewal? More or less we have agreed it, we wait for the right time and decide everything.

“What has been lacking to Juve to be in the top eight in Europe? We were wrong in the first matches of the Champions League.

“[Paul] Pogba front of the defense? No, I see him more as a midfielder, where he can unleash all his power and his leg.”

“England and Uruguay in the World Cup? They are more or less equally strong. I think I can play a few years at this level. As long as I enjoy it and I’m fine I will continue to play, when I realize I don’t  I’ll stop.”
