Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has asserted that his side has what it takes to progress to the Europa League final following their 2-1 first leg loss to Benfica on Thursday night.

The 30-year-old Argentine netted Juve’s equaliser, which could possibly turn out to be a crucial away goal after all is said and done in next week’s return leg in Turin.

It was the former Manchester United and Manchester City forward’s first goal in European competition since 2009 and while the result gives the Portuguese a slight advantage, Tevez is remaining upbeat.

“My goal is not important, but what is is that we are still on course to qualify,” he told Mediaset after the match.

“I am feeling very well physically and am happy. There is a big chance that we can still make it through to the final.

“Qualification  is open and is well within our grasp.”

The Bianconeri will be hoping to reverse the deficit and seal a spot in the final in Turin when they take on Jorge Jesus’ side at home next week.
