Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has stated that the Biancocelesti are close to renewing the contract of Miroslav Klose.
The German is set to become a free agent at the end of the season with reports linking him with a move to Major League Soccer or the Premier League.
Lazio have not hid the fact that they would like the German to renew his contract and Tare has admitted that the former Bayern Munich striker is close to agreeing to an extension.
“We are at a good point for a renewal,” Tare told Il Messaggero. “He [Klose] can still give a lot to Lazio.”
The German has made 20 appearances this season, scoring seven goals in what has been an injury riddled season.
