Ljajic – Roma

Roma forward Adem Ljajic has confessed that the game against Fiorentina was special to him and insisted the Giallorossi will not give up trying to catch Serie A leaders Juventus.

The 22-year-old set up the only goal of the game, in the Giallorossi’s 1-0 win in Florence, with a defence splitting pass that was met by team-mate Radja Nainggolan, as the three points guaranteed Roma second spot and Champions League football.

“I know this stadium so well and it was a special game for me with many emotions,” Ljajic told Sky Sport Italia.

“It went well and we won. Before the match our objective was to qualify for the Champions League and we have achieved it.”

The Serbian was one of Roma’s stand out performers on the night, constantly toying with the Fiorentina defence.

“There isn’t much of a chance for the Scudetto, but we won’t give up as Juventus still have to play at the Stadio Olimpico,” he continued.

The former Viola player was then questioned about his future.

“As I said before, I want to end the season as well as possible, then we’ll sit around a table and talk,” he concluded.
