Olympique Lyonnais coach Remi Garde has dismissed suggestions that Juventus could be complacent ahead of their Europa League quarter-final second leg.

A Leonardo Bonucci strike six minutes from time gave the Serie A leaders a 1-0 lead and away goal advantage going into the return tie, but Garde believes his side can overturn the deficit at Juventus Stadium.

“They’re realistic in their mentality, and I don’t think taking advantage of their confidence will be a factor,” the 48-year-old tactician said during his pre-match press conference.

“Juve are perhaps the stronger side, but there’s no science in 90 minutes of football and anything can happen. We believe we can do it.”

Lyon will be backed by a large travelling support, and Garde promised to try and make them proud.

“I want to thank the 2,000 fans who will support us at Juventus Stadium, they are critical to us,” he continued.

“We all know that it will be difficult against this great side, but we’ll give everything for them as we’ve always done in these past months.

“I want us to leave the field with no regrets.”
