Former AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini believes the Rossoneri must put a sound project in place based on young talent in order to return to their former glories.

Il Capitano, as he is called by the Rossoneri faithful, enjoyed an illustrious career solely with Milan that spanned over 24 years, with 902 official appearances and 26 major trophies under his belt.

With Milan’s poor performances this season, the Rossoneri legend has spokem out about the problems and future plans for the club as reported by TuttoMercatoWeb.com.

“The quality of the investments between Italy and the other European teams are different. We lost the needed pace and so we are suffering.”

“To have a philosophy of youth requires patience. Results may not arrive immediately but we must have the courage to make a five-year plan. The secret is to combine the investment of youth with the senior players.”

AC Milan’s Primavera team is third in their group in the Campionato Primavera, while the senior team is 8th in Serie A.
