Hellas Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini admitted that his side deserved to lose against Fiorentina on Sunday afternoon.
The Scaglieri were handed a 5-3 defeat at the Stadio Bentegodi in Verona with Juan Iturbe, Luca Toni, and Jacopo Sala scoring the goals for the hosts.
Speaking to Rai Sport after the game, Mandorlini said that the Viola deserved to win.
“Today the best team won,” said Mandorlini. “It’s difficult to speak after conceding five goals.
“However, the team had a positive spirit.”
When asked about whether the side will qualify for the Europa League, Mandorlini remained coy on his side’s chances.
“Europa League? On Sunday we play Atalanta. There are still many points up for grab.”
