After the Europa League return leg against Olympique Lyonnais, Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio stated that the team is nearing its targets.
The Italian international scored the game-winning goal after 68th minutes, thanks to a crucial deflection by Samuel Umtiti.
“Reaching the semi-finals was not easy, but we started well and then conceded the equaliser,” Marchisio told Mediaset Premium.
“My goal was lucky, now we have the chance to play in the semi-finals. We are moving forward in our goals.”
When asked why Carlos Tevez cannot score in Europe, he praised the Argentinian striker, deeming the matter unimportant.
“Winning is important, the team is important,” the Italian continued.
“He is a great champion and he proves it even when he doesn’t score. Our team improved thanks to him too.”
