Inter striker Mauro Icardi has brushed aside rumours suggesting that he is set to leave the Serie A for La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.

With Diego Costa set to leave the La Liga leaders come the summer transfer window, the Rojiblancos are of the opinion that the Italian international would make for a perfect replacement.

And the 21-year-old striker insists that he still has a lot to learn under the guidance of Walter Mazzarri at the San Siro outfit.

“Rumours about the future? I want to make my career at Inter,  continue doing what I’ve been doing this year, remaining sure to learn new things every year” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“If Atletico or Real Madrid want me, they’ll have to think of other players. ”

Icardi then went on to discuss his childhood idols, claiming that they will inspire him as Argentina seek World Cup glory.

“I think I play like Batistuta and Crespo, while Higuain and Tevez have a different style of play,” Icardi continued.

“Regarding my private life, I am having a nice time. If we get the World Cup because of the goals I’ve set myself at Inter then fine, if not, it will be for the next [World Cup]. ”

Icardi has made 19 appearances in the Serie A this season, scoring eight goals and racking up two assists in the process.
