With many expecting Diego Milito to make his departure from Inter this summer the striker has been reflecting on his best games for the Nerazzurri, highlighting their 3-1 Champions League semi-final first leg victory over Barcelona in 2010 as one of the greatest.

However, while fans will probably reminisce over his two goals in the final against Bayern Munich to clinch the trophy that season the 34-year-old reiterated the importance of taking a two goal lead to Catalonia that ultimately saw them progress.

“Was Barcelona in 2010 my best match? Maybe, it is difficult to say,” Milito told Inter Channel.

“The team that we faced was one of the best, both personally and collectively.

“It was a fantastic match. We were losing 1-0 at home by that amazing dribble that brought the opening goal, but we did not give up and we deserved our win.

“I remember that after the second goal by Maicon we talked among ourselves and said we must continue [to find a third goal], they were in trouble and it showed.

“Then they had to try and make more goals in the second leg, and we knew that at their stadium it is difficult.”
