Napoli inch closer to French defender

Kalidou Koulibaly GenkNapoli are nearing a deal to lure 22-year old Kalidou Koulibaly to the Stadio San Paolo.

Sporting director Riccardo Bigon has targeted defensive reinforcements as key to bolstering the Azzurri side for a Scudetto run next season.

According to Radio Crc, Napoli club officials are set for immediate talks with Racing Genk as they hope to tie up the deal int the coming weeks for a fee of around €5 million.

The 22-year old has starred for the Belgian side since his move from FC Metz two years and has the versatility to play as either a centre back or a defensive midfielder.

The defender is third on his club in total appearances this season with 31 and has scored a pair of goals for the sixth-placed Jupiler Pro side.
