Napoli president claims he has completed first summer signing

Aurelio De LaurentiisReports in Italy are suggesting that Serie A side Napoli have already completed their first purchase of the summer transfer window with Lyon’s Maxime Gonalons rumoured to be the subject of a comment by president Aurelio De Laurentiis that a deal had been done for an unidentified player.

The 25-year-old defensive midfielder has been linked with the Naples club since the arrival of coach Rafael Benitez to the club last summer, however, while his transfer to the club then, and in January, failed to materialise it would seem they have finally got there man.

According to Tuttosport the Partenopei owner has confessed to close friends that they had already secured their first summer signing and the indications are that it is the Frenchman who will be arriving.

The Ligue 1 club had been promoting the launch of their new home kit for the upcoming campaign and captain Gonalons’ surprise absence has been viewed as they biggest sign that his future lay away from his homeland.
