Daniel Agger LiverpoolNapoli will reportedly continue their pursuit of Liverpool defender Daniel Agger this summer.

The 29-year-old has remained a target of Partenopei boss Rafa Benitez since his arrival at the Italian side, as the two worked together for several seasons during Benitez’s stint as Liverpool manager from 2004-10, and it seems his wish of landing the centre-back could be granted at the end of the season.

According to the Daily Express, Napoli could make a push for the Danish international this summer as Reds boss Brendan Rodgers apparently already has his eye on possible replacements for the English club’s vice-captain, with those being Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo.

Daniel Agger, who joined Liverpool during Rafa Benitez’s reign in January 2006, has failed to keep his spot in the team’s starting line up this season and has scored one goal in his 19 Premier League appearances this term thus far.
