Thomas Vermaelen ArsenalNapoli have set their sights on both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur centre-backs, Thomas Vermaelen and Jan Vertonghen respectively.

Napoli had first targeted either of Liverpool’s Daniel Agger or Martin Skrtel, but with the season both Reds defenders are enjoying, the opportunity to prize them away from Anfield grows less and less likely.

Il Mattino reports of Napoli’s interest in the Vermaelen, who tops the Partenopei’s wish list as things stand. The Italian media add that a deal to bring the Belgian international to Naples would cost around €10 million, for which his compatriot at Napoli Dries Mertens is working to convince him of. Finally, Il Mattino report that Napoli would also be considering Tottenham’s Belgian, Vertonghen, as the alternative

Both Vermaelen and Vertonghen have struggled this year, making talks of their exits grow louder as the season comes to a near.
