Cagliari coach Ivo Pulga praised the Isolani’s effort after they fought back from an early disadvantage to defeat Genoa 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Sebastian De Maio’s goal in the third minute was cancelled out by Marco Sau before Victor Ibarbo’s late winner gave the away side all three points, a result that Pulga believes was more than deserved to the Sardi’s team effort.
“The victory came as a result of the entire team,” he told Rai Sport after the match.
“Ibarbo and Sau scored but it was not easy to win. We reacted after conceding a goal and everyone wanted the three points.
“Ibarbo is a force of nature and he could have even scored the 3-1 goal, but the victory must be credited to the entire team.
“I don’t know what happened at the end of the match so I don’t understand why there was a mix up.”
