Sinisa Mihajlovic has spoken about his coaching experience at Sampdoria, claiming to be very proud of the work he is doing and that he could not refuse the offer, considering his personal attachment to Blucerchiati.

He described how he managed to get the players to follow him and that he gave up a good contract with Serbia to coach in the Serie A once again.

He said to the Genoa newspaper Il Secolo XIX: “I am proud of Sampdoria and of what I am doing for Sampdoria.

“At the beginning, maybe in some situations in November, it looked like a utopia, but if you believe in what you are doing and you transmit enthusiasm, the players follow you.

“In order to join Sampdoria, I gave up to a two-and-a-half-year contract with Serbia, but I could not say no.

“I accepted because I felt obliged to save this team, because of the supporters and to give back what Sampdoria gave me as a player.”

Since joining Sampdoria as a coach back in November, Mihajlovic has collected 32 points in 19 matches.
