Pablo Betancourt, the agent of Southampton player Gaston Ramirez, stated that his client is open to a return in Italy.

Despite being acquired for €15 million in 2012, the Uruguayan has only started two Premier League games for the St Mary’s outfit this season.

“We want to forget this season, he almost never plays despite the important investment the club made two years ago,” the agent told Ilssussidiario.net on Tuesday.

“Of course he could return to Serie A, we are trying to understand what team can make the right offer to Southampton, he played very well in Italy and many teams remember him positively.”

He was asked whether he could be Kaka’s heir at AC Milan.

“It would be an honour for Gaston to receive this inheritance from a great player like Kaka, but we are keeping our feet on the ground, nothing is concrete yet,” he continued.

“It would be an important opportunity and it would be impossible to turn it down.

“He was at ease in Serie A, he would return willingly, but an agreement with Southampton will have to be found.”
