Ex-Juventus man and current Sunderland player Emanuele Giaccherini is believed to be a transfer target for Genoa this summer.

The Italian international left Serie A last summer to play for Premier League side Sunderland under the then management of Paolo Di Canio.

According to Il Secolo XIX he could make a return to Italian shores during the summer transfer window, with the Rossoblu being a potential destination.

It is reported that the club have already commenced negotiations with the player, and that a deal is likely to take place.

Despite his current employers sitting bottom of the Premier League, Giaccherini has found himself receiving widespread praise for his performances this season and as a result has spark interest from clubs in both the Premier League and Serie A.

The 28-year-old has played 19 times for Sunderland in the Premier League this season, contributing with three goals and one assist to date.
