Roma captain Francesco Totti says his side are very proud and pleased to have secured their place in the Champions League group stages for next season.
He played an important part in his side’s 1-0 victory away to Fiorentina on Saturday night which secured their return to European competition through a Radja Nainggolan goal.
Speaking on his official website, the Lupi icon said: “Fiorentina play good football and are very strong and to beat them at home shows how we continue to improve, step by step, and proves our winning mentality.
“We are very happy to have gotten through to the group stages of the Champions League next year because that was our goal going into the season and we have did it before the end of April which is a source of both pride and satisfaction.”
He also had a warm message to calcio fans, ending by saying: “And speaking of beautiful things… Happy Easter to everyone!”
