Torino coach Giampiero Ventura praised the Granata for their never say die attitude after coming back to defeat Genoa 2-1 in injury time on Sunday.

Late goals from Ciro Immobile and Alessio Cerci snatched a late victory for the Granata from the jaws of defeat and Ventura believes his team’s attitude came through during the final minutes of the encounter.

“It gives me a positive feeling to hear that our match against Lazio will be a direct matchup to qualify for the Europa League,” he told Rai Sport.

“Today’s match was very difficult against a team that are very solid. The most important thing is how we won: when we made it 1-1 the side wanted to immediately score the second.

“I saw an incredible spirit and mentality. It is the most positive note for me and something that gives me great satisfaction.

“The chants in favour of president [Urbano] Cairo? I hope that I am helping to create this important reality.”
