AC Milan have reportedly decided to fire coach Clarence Seedorf and replace him with Primavera boss Pippo Inzaghi.

The Dutchman has been under pressure since he took over the Rossoneri hotseat from Massimiliano Allegri in January this year, and apparent clashes with vice-president Adriano Galliani have seemingly sealed his fate.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Galliani and Milan president Silvio Berlucsoni held a meeting to discuss the coaching position and it was agreed that Inzaghi would take over from his former teammate.

The only other contender for the position was Sevilla boss Unai Emery, but after it was revealed he will sign a contract extension with the Spanish side, Inzaghi became the front runner, with Galliani pushing for Seedorf’s removal.

It is thought an official announcement will be made on Tuesday afternoon once a severance package has been agreed with Seedorf.

Inzaghi has been coaching in the Rossoneri youth ranks over the last two seasons, first with the Allievi Nazionale, winning the Scopigno Cup in March 2013, and then the Primavera side with whom he won the Viareggio Tournament in February this year.
