Morocco national team boss Badou Ezzaki has revealed that AC Milan midfielder Adel Taarabt has missed out on a call up because he doesn’t answer his phone.

The 24-year-old, who is currently on loan with the Rossoneri from Queens Park Rangers, has scored four goals in his 13 Serie A appearances for the Italian club thus far, though his national team’s coach admits that his form isn’t the reason why he won’t be playing in his country’s upcoming friendlies with Mozambique, Russia and Angola.

Zaki spoke to the press about Taarabt’s situation with the Moroccan team and insisted that the absence of one player won’t determine his squad’s success.

“How can I call a player who doesn’t respond to the phone calls or messages that we send?” said the tactician.

“You have given too much importance to this situation because a national team doesn’t consist of just one player.

“Our project is one that consists of several players that want to engage and contribute to the team.”
