Chievo beat Inter 2-1 on Sunday evening at the Stadio Bentegodi.

Inter opened the scoring in the first half through Marco Andreolli before two second half Victor Obinna goals gave the hosts the win.

Chievo enjoyed the game’s first real chance in the fifth minute when Alberto Paoloschi fired wide after going through on goal after getting onto the end of a long ball.

The Flying Donkeys came closer to scoring in the 10th minute after a cross was played in from the right flank but Paloschi’s free header crashed against the bar with goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carizzo left rooted to the spot.

Inter came close to opening the scoring in the 20th minute after Danilo D’Ambrosio weaved around the Chievo defence in the area  but Lorenzo Squizzi got down to save his shot at the near post.

Dejan Lazarevic came extremely close to opening the scoring for the Gialloblu at the half-hour marl after taking one touch to drive into the area and a second to fire passed Carizzo but the ball hit the post and rolled safely into the hands of the goalkeeper.

Two minutes later Saphir Taider came close for the Nerazzurri after hitting a dropping ball from outside the area narrowly passed the left post.

Inter opened the scoring in the 41st minute after a crossed freekick was not cleared properly and the ball ricochetted  to the feet of former Chievo defender Marco Andreolli who made the most of being in the right place at the right time and fired into the bottom left corner first time.

The two sides went into the break with the visitors somewhat fortunate to be a goal up after Ceo twice hit the woodwork.

The second half started slowly with Inter dominating possession and Chievo causing few problems, with Carizzo dealing with a few crosses without too much trouble.

Taider had a shot blocked in the 60th minutes following a corner but the Gialloblu started to exert a little more pressure without creating clear chances.

In the 72nd minute Eugenio Corini brought on Obinna and the changed paid immediate dividend.

Lazarevic fed him out wide and  Obinna beat Carizzo at his near post with a powerful left-foot shot.

The home crowd responded and Obinna forced a save from the Inter keeper in the 80th minutes as Chievo tried to complete the comeback.

The Gialloblu tried to force the issue and Obinna made it at magical substitution after playing a one-two with Bakary Drame and beating Carizzo with a right-foot shot in the 90th minute.

Inter had no time to react and the two goals from the Nigerian completed a memorable comeback for the Gialloblu
