Bologna forward, Panagiotis Kone, was left in tears after supporters vented their anger in his direction following the clubs relegation from Serie A on Sunday afternoon.

The Rossoblu were condemned to Serie B after they succumbed to their 18th defeat of the season, losing 2-1 at home to Catania, ending a six year spell in Italy’s top flight.

The Bolognesi have been exasperated by their teams performances throughout the season and their frustration reached boiling point after Sundays defeat.

A video on the Gazzetta dello Sport website, shows Kone surrounded by police as a group of Felsinei supporters launched diatribes in his direction.

The chants included “shame on you” – directed at the team in general – and “We are Bologna, only us.”, while one fan tells the Greek international to “go to hell.”

The Albanian born 26-year-old was visibly perturbed and eventually started crying as police tried to escort him away from the disgruntled crowd.

Despite their win, Catania will join Bologna in Serie B  along with Livorno who lost at home to Fiorentina 1-0.
