Fiorentina coach Vinceno Montella expressed his disappointment with a section of the Livorno support after they subjected Giusppe Rossi to abuse during their match.

The Viola won the contest 1-0 through a goal from Juan Cuadrado, a result that sends Livorno to Serie B, but Rossi was subjected to some rather unpleasant songs after he was brought on given that it was against the Amaranto and as a result of a Leandro Rinaudo tackle that he was injured in the first place.

Montella toldĀ Rai Sport: “The songs against Rossi? I did not like that at all and we should not even comment on them.

“By talking, it gives these unsporting people publicity although I do not want to generalise that with the entire curva of Livorno but they were certainly not nice songs.”

On the game itself, Montella believes that they can take lessons from the game going forward into the new season: “It was a struggle sometimes but I think we won the game with wit and intelligence.

“We must learn to do this more often and over the course of the entire championship.”
