Fiorentina midfielder Massimo Ambrosini is set to leave the Viola after it is revealed he has not been offered a new deal by the Viola.

The former AC Milan player initially signed last summer in a one year deal, however, the 36-year-old will now be seeking a new club.

“I would just like to say that my adventure with Fiorentina ends here,” revealed the former Milan captain to reporters.

“I would like to thank everyone in Florence for a wonderful year and I have taken great satisfaction during my time here and met some fantastic people.

“I wish everyone in the team good luck as everybody knew it was my wish to stay at Fiorentina, however, the club has made their decision and I therefore would like to take the opportunity to thank them all for my time here.”

“I will take a break to figure out my future but I think my adventure in Italy is over unless something dramatic arrives.”

“I wanted to stay, but the Viola have made their decision.”

“There isn’t always clarity in the world of football and to be honest I was rather surprised, as suddenly some things went missing.”

“Did I have problems with Vincenzo Montella? Absolutely not.”

Ambrosini made 21 appearances for the Viola and made 344 appearances for Milan during an 18-year spell with the Rossoneri.
