Having overcome a field of eight, Palermo and Roma are the two left standing from the Primavera play-0ffs who join the final quarter-line up.

They will meet Torino, Juventus, Atalanta, Chievo, Lazio and Fiorentina in the last eight to see who we will be crowned Primavera champions for the season.

At the play-off quarter final stage, Palermo beat Novara away from home by a solitary Cephas Malele strike while Roma triumphed 2-0 against Sampdoria.

Although Andrea Petagna opened the scoring for AC Milan, their dreams were ended as they fell to a 3-1 loss against Udinese while city rivals Inter eased past Empoli 3-0 with Alessandro Capello helping himself to a brace.

In the final four stage with spots in the quarter-finals proper up for grabs, Malele again scored for Palermo and Accursio Bentivegna scored twice to cancel out Emanuele Rovini’s double for Udinese and move them through.

Meanwhile, Alberto De Rossi’s charges saw off Inter 4-2. Federico Ricci and Matteo Adamo both bagged braces for the Giallorossi while Capello and Federico Bonazzoli got the Nerazzurri goals.
