Torino ended their league season by finishing top of Group A and a full 15 points ahead of city rivals Juventus with a 3-1 victory away at Spezia.

Mattia Aramu signalled his intentions for the run in by bagging a brace while the Bianconeri could only manage a tame 1-1 draw at home against high-flying Novara, a game that saw both teams finish up with 10 men.

Empoli claimed the crucial fourth spot as their win over Parma by a goal to nil, coupled with Sampdoria’s defeat away at Bologna on a 3-1 scoreline, mean that the Tuscan side have pipped the Blucerchiati to the post on the final day and claim the last play-off position.

Cesena beat Siena by a lone goal from Simone Braccini while Carpi cancelled out Modena in their 1-1 draw.

The final game saw Genoa and Sassuolo play out a scoreless draw.

Chievo have ended the regular season atop the Group C table despite a disappointing final day defeat against Inter at home.

A Kevin Magri goal for the Nerazzurri 11 minutes after half time helped them to a 3-2 victory in Verona as Atalanta’s 2-2 draw against another Milan city side saw them finish up four points behind the Flying Donkeys.

They took an early lead after five minutes but the Rossoneri battled back and it took a Federico Varano goal five minutes from time to rescue a draw for La Dea.

Cittadella’s final day 3-0 loss in Sardinia against Cagliari, helped by a brace from Alexander Pusceddu (son of the coach Vittorio), mean that incredibly they end their season without a win to their name, their three points being won from three draws to go with 23 defeats.

Second from bottom Virtus Lanciano did pick up a win to end the campaign after a 3-1 victory over Hellas Verona while a Beleck goal five minutes before half time saw Udinese squeeze past Varese 2-1.

Padova ended on a high with a 3-0 away success to Brescia while Ternana beat Pescara by the odd goal in five.

Mattia Fiore’s last day winner against Juve Stabia saw Lazio top the Group C table after a 2-1 victory that keeps them ahead of Fiorentina.

The Viola could only manage a week 26 draw with highly-touted Marko Dabro having to equalise twice after they had went behind in Florence.

Alberto De Rossi’s Roma wrapped up their campaign with a clinical 3-0 hammering of Bari at Trigoria but Avellino could not do something similar and finish their season with only a third league win of the year.

They were ruthlessly dispatched 4-0 by Napoli. A goal six minutes from time allowed Reggina to see off Palermo on the mainland with an excellent 3-2 victory.

Crotone got past Trapani by the same score as Catania hit Livorno for six in a game that saw Fabrizio Scapellato score a hat-trick.
