Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia is reportedly stalling on a contract renewal with the Biscione for now, as he could be on the verge of joining Juventus in the near future.

The 26-year-old, who has been named as a main candidate to become the Nerazzurri’s new captain after the departure of Javier Zanetti, has previously been linked with a move to the Bianconeri throughout the 2013-14 season, but nothing materialised, though now negotiations may be back on.

According to Mediaset the Italian international, whose current contract with Inter is set to expire in June 2015, seems to be in favour of joining coach Antonio Conte at Juventus, as the two previously worked together at Arezzo and Bari, and could be looking to depart to the reigning Serie A champions on a free transfer at the end of the 2014-15 term if they fail to make a bid for him this summer.

Ranocchia scored one goal in his 24 league appearances for the Milan side last season.
