Benatia – Roma

Mehdi Benatia and Roma have reportedly held discussions about the centre back’s future, with the Giallorossi setting their asking price for player at €40 million.

The Moroccan has been in excellent form since joining from Udinese last summer, alerting the interest of some of Europe’s leading sides.

Il Tempo report that a meeting was recently held between the player’s agent and the club regarding his future with the club reluctant to sell, and unwilling to accept the request to extend the players contract until 2019 at double his current wages, meaning a parting of the ways could be possible.

The Giallorossi would apparently demand €40m for the player although they may accept a offer in the region of €35m, with Manchester City, Bayern Munch, Barcelona and Monaco all admirers of the player.

That would represent a significant profit on the €13.5m Roma reportedly paid Udinese for the player last summer.
