AC Milan head coach Clarence Seedorf has praised his players for continuing to play against Atalanta following a banana being thrown at Kevin Constant and has spoken of his experience as head coach and the future.

The Rossoneri lost 2-1 to Atalanta thanks to a last gasp Franco Brienza strike, a result which in effect ends the side’s hopes for Europa League qualification.

“The banana thrown at Constant? I have to congratulate my players because they have continued to play for the rest of the game,” Seedorf told Sky Sport Italia.

“Constant and the others have performed well and continued to play.”

As for the Europa League he added: “Surely, a few months ago it was impossible to dream of being in Europe. It is a struggle now, I am sorry for the loss but we will wait for the Torino-Parma game.

“The boys have given everything, I can not blame them.”

He then discussed his experience as head coach: “I do not evaluate my time yet, I am thinking of ending the season well with this group.

“There will be a time for evaluations. I’m giving everything and I have a clear conscience. I am focused on the last game of the season.”
