Lazio and Italy star Antonio Candreva has hinted that he wants to play Champions League football next season, throwing his future at the Biancocelesti into doubt.
The winger put in a man of the match performance for Italy during their 2-1 victory over England in World Cup action on Saturday and the 27-year-old wasted no time in letting his desires for next season known.
With Juventus, Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested in his services, speculation over the future of the Rome native will be much talked about in the coming weeks.
“The ambitions of a player are those to do well and play in the Champions League,” he told reporters after the match.
“I hope to have a great World Cup, then we’ll see what will come.”
Candreva tallied 12 goals in 37 appearances last season, helping Lazio to a ninth place finish.
