Hellas Verona have reportedly signed Manchester United goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.

The 19-year-old, who joined the Red Devils from Fiorentina in 2011, had become a regular in the Premier League side’s reserve and youth teams since his arrival, though it seems he may now be seeking first team play back in the Serie A with the Gialloblu.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Italian youth international had recently completed his medical at Hellas Verona and has now signed a five-year contract with the club, with an official announcement expected to be issued by the Mastini in the coming days.

Gollini was apparently offered a contract renewal with Manchester United before deciding to leave for the Italian side, but turned it down due to his hunger for more time on the pitch.

The goalkeeper had an impressive run while playing for the English team in the UEFA Youth League last term and has also recently appeared for Italy’s Under-19 national team.
