Palermo forward Kyle Lafferty has confirmed that he will be leaving the Rosanero this summer as he is reportedly set to join English club Norwich City.

The 26-year-old, who has apparently already undergone his medical with the recently relegated Canaries, has wished the newly promoted Italian side good luck in the Serie A next season and admitted that it was the club’s choice to sell him.

Lafferty wrote on his official Facebook page about his departure from Palermo and expressed his wishes for the team to improve their squad with the money made from his sale.

“I’m sorry. Goodbye Palermo, thanks,” wrote the former Rangers man. “I like Palermo and it was nice to play here, but Palermo have decided to sell me and I respect their decision.

“I hope that the club can spend the money buying good players and can stay in the Serie A for a long time. This is a league that belongs to Palermo.”

Kyle Lafferty scored 11 goals in his 33 Serie B appearances for the Aquile last term.
