Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has announced that he will stay on as coach of the Blucerchiati.

The former Samp and Lazio player had signed a new contract in May but doubts were raised about his future after Eduardo Garrone sold the club to film produced Massimo Ferrero for a reported €15 million but the two have met in a Roman restaurant and it would appear Ferrero has convinced Mihajlovic to stay.

“I will stay on as the coach of Sampdoria and I will do the job with great satisfaction,” revealed Mihajlovic on the club’s official Twitter account.

“I met president Ferrero for the first time, I was happy to get to know him and learn of his plans.”

“I can’t wait to get back to work at Bogliasco.”

Ferrero has met with a large number of local figures at Sampdoria including the mayor of Genoa Marco Doria and various directors at the club.

It is expected that former AC Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida will leave but Carlo Osti is expected to stay on in his role as it expected Ferrero will look to carry out a mini-revolution at the club.
